Overview

This practice runs two locations in the Los Angeles area, with a heavy focus on Invisalign and braces.

LA is a brutal market for orthodontists. Every practice worth its salt is running ads, building links, and fighting for the same handful of searches. Even well-established offices struggle to break through.

When this practice came to us, they weren’t starting from scratch. They had a website, they were running Google Ads, and they had decent name recognition. But their organic rankings and map pack presence didn’t reflect any of that. They were leaving a lot of patients on the table.

The goal was straightforward: get them ranking, get them in the map pack, and get more consult requests coming in through search.

The Challenge

The website had some structural problems that were quietly holding back performance.

Several pages were targeting the same keywords, which meant they were essentially competing with each other. Some pages had thin content. Others weren’t getting enough internal link support to build any real authority. Search engines had a hard time knowing which pages mattered.

The Google Business Profiles existed, but they weren’t optimized well enough to compete across a metro area as large as LA.

And on the conversion side, the site wasn’t doing enough to build trust with visitors. Reviews and credibility indicators were buried, which doesn’t help when someone is deciding whether to request a consult.

What We Did

We started with keyword research to understand how patients in LA actually search for orthodontic care. From there, we cleaned up the content issues: expanded thin pages, consolidated overlapping ones, and focused authority on the pages that mattered most.

Internal Linking
Key treatment pages weren’t getting nearly enough internal link support. We fixed the site architecture so those pages were properly connected to the rest of the site.

Technical SEO
We addressed crawlability issues and implemented schema markup so search engines had a cleaner picture of the practice and its services.

Google Business Profile Optimization
Both profiles needed work. We optimized categories, profile information, and other local ranking factors to give them a real shot at competing across LA’s neighborhoods.

Conversion Rate Optimization
We repositioned trust signals throughout the site (reviews, credentials, credibility indicators) so that the traffic we were driving actually turned into consult requests.

Search Visibility Results

Both locations grew steadily as improvements rolled out.

Location 1 went from 25.90 to 67.91 — a 42.01-point jump. Location 2 went from

25.90 to 52.77 — up 26.87 points.

For orthodontic practices, the local map pack is where a huge chunk of new patients come from.

We used a ranking grid to measure map pack visibility across the surrounding service areas. Nearby competitors were scattered. Most ranked between positions 5 and 17 across the grid.
