Local SEO for Counseling Practice

A licensed mental health professional was frustrated with her lack of leads coming in from the Internet. She rarely if ever, got leads from the Internet and wanted this to change. She was tired of all the other counselors in her city getting Internet leads.

After working with the client for two weeks (this is exceptionally quick), we were able to get the client 4 page 1 rankings, two of which were in the top 2 search results in Google. Fast forward two months, and the client is ranking #1 for 5 different search terms. Not just any terms, but ones they WANT to rank for (“city name counselor”, “counselor for teens”, “therapist in city name”, etc).

How we did it:

• We performed on-page SEO (meaning we added coding, content, etc., to the client’s website) to improve local search visibility, using keyword research, a competitive analysis, and the practice’s goals.
• Through focused research, we determined the best business listings, the most relevant and authoritative directories for the business to be listed on, and created & updated approximately 75 business listings.
• Optimized their Google Business Profile Listing for maximum visibility by optimizing and uploading more images, choosing appropriate categories, and other techniques to improve visibility.
