Email Marketing in 3 Easy Steps

Are you currently trying to build loyalty amongst your customers? Trying to bring in incremental sales from your existing base? Email marketing could be your best tool to accomplish both of these goals.

1.Name Recognition

The first and most obvious thing you need to do when sending out emails is to ensure that you have a recognizable name on your email. If you own a bakery called Rudy’s Donuts, then an obvious choice for the ‘from’ section would be Rudy’s Donuts, not The City’s Best Donuts. Yes that may be true, and yes that may be your tag line, but be simple and straightforward. Make it easy for your customers to remember and recognize you.

message as spam if it has certain words in it like ‘buy or free’. I’d avoid those phrases in your subject lines and put something interesting, intriguing and that accurately portrays your message (meaning it doesn’t mislead your audience).


Next is the message. Put yourself in the reader’s shoes. Get right to the point. While your customers did choose to receive your emails, think about how many emails you receive per day. You probably don’t have the time to read all of them, even if you did opt in to them. So try in the first few sentences to capture their attention and get them to continue reading to the point of your offer. Oh and finally, don’t email just to email. Email when you have a reason.
